Strategies for energy management

In terms of saving recourses, an effective and efficient energy management is both for conventional as well as for electric vehicles necessary.

Electric mobility however, has different needs concerning the energy management. Without a combustion engine, among other things, the potential of exhaust heat sinks while at the same time the number of temperature sensitive components (e.g. cooling concepts) and the comfort requirements (e.g. interior air conditioning) are increasing.

Therefore, intelligent energy management systems are essential to

  • reduce the total energy consumption e.g. by using waste heat,
  • improve the efficiency and durability by operating in ideal temperature ranges, and
  • reduce the operating costs with the help of an appropriate operating strategy.

To achieve best results for your projects, we cooperate closely with our colleagues e.g. from the drivetrain and electrics/electronics departments.
